What is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) Host?
An ISP will give your website a unique world wide web address and then propogate that address across the entire web. The address is transparent to the user when they type in the "www" website name.
You, the client, will contract with an ISP hosting company. This must be renewed yearly, or whatever span of time is initially paid for. ISP fees are based on amount of space and service you require.
The name by which your website is known must be unique on the internet. This can be done with your ISP hosting company. They will then legally register it on the internet. This name and fee must be renewed yearly, or whatever span of time is initially paid for.

There are hundreds of search engines on the internet. They have direct links to individual website addresses. Some examples of search engines are: Yahoo, Ask, Google, etc.
